Nokia Booklet 3G
With the world of PCs ever changing, there has been a significant shift recently in the ideologies surrounding laptops, notebooks and mini laptops towards making them more personal to their users and stepping away from the previously closed-minded norm that everyone requires the same things from their computers. The world of the personal computer is moving back to being just that - personal. Nokia are finally revolutionising the area by bringing a much needed solution and an ever rich knowledge of mobility to the PC world, making it much more social and helpful to users in their daily lives.
Nokia will be launching their Nokia Booklet 3G on 2nd September 2009. The Nokia Booklet 3G aims to deliver all the features that a regular notebook or mini-laptop would, but with an improved and unrivalled mobility performance. Nokia's well-known motto is 'connecting people' and that's just what the Nokia Booklet aims to achieve. As well as the high specifications of the Nokia Booklet, users are also greeted with a premium light-weight aluminum chassis design, which not only looks stunning, but gives it a durability function too.
Let's not forget that Nokia are the leading makers of mobile devices and have pioneered the world of telecommunications for a long time. The Nokia Booklet has a multitude of connectivity options including 3G/HSPA and Wi-Fi, giving you high-speed, always connected access to the internet. The Nokia Booklet 3G steps up to professional's needs by allowing the user to leave all their power cables at home, yet still be connected and productive whilst on the go, anywhere, any time with up to 12 hours of battery life.
Powered by the super efficient Intel Atom processor, the Nokia Booklet 3G promises a full-function PC along with everything you'd expect from a Booklet with no scrimping. The only thing that is saved on is its dimensions, making its portability and accessibility actually realistic. The Booklet measures just above 2cm thin and weighs just 1.25kg. That's carrying the weight of just over a bag of sugar to me and you - astonishing.
To be honest, the Nokia Booklet 3G promises everything you'd expect and need and then more. And obviously, with the Nokia Booklet being Windows based, it's easy to transfer media, documents and anything else you can think of to and from your stationary home PC. This is supported by Bluetooth functionality, making receiving information from your phone or from friends and colleagues even easier, further reinforcing its social duty as well as eliminating the need for cabling whilst on the move.
The Booklet has a HD 10.1 inch glass screen with the added bonus of a HDMI port. At the top of the screen lies a camera, suitable for on the move video communication. The Nokia Booklet offers the option to insert swappable SIM cards, and also has an SD card slot making transferring information and pictures quick and painless.
Nokia have a broad suite of Ovi services, allowing you to completely personalise your Booklet experience. The Booklet has GPS assistance built in, so access to Ovi maps when you're in need of some directions is quite a welcomed feature.
A full specification of the Nokia Booklet 3G will be released on the eagerly anticipated 2nd September. From what we've seen so far, it's fair to say that the spec seems to be speaking volumes and it has its own voice. That voice is speaking a well-thought out and thorough mission statement - to connect you (always), to give you all the applications, PC functionality, personal, social and media tools you'll ever need in a tiny light-weight, portable aluminium shell. Don't forget, that's just from its press release so far. I can't wait to see what else it has to offer.
